Plot:
One hundred years ago, black-and-white silent films were all the rage in Japan, and adults and children were fascinated by them. Shuntaro (played by Narita Ryo) often sneaked into the theater to eavesdrop on free movies. No matter whether it was a Japanese or a foreign movie, he could always imitate the tone of the narrator perfectly. Being a "narrator" was Shuntaro's dream since childhood, but when he grew up, he became a "fake narrator", distracting the audience's attention and letting thieves take advantage of the opportunity to break into the house. During a time when he was almost caught in a gang robbery, he fled to the small town theater "Aokikan" with the stolen money. There were various types of debaters in the theater, such as drunkards, handsome men, and fat otakus. Together with the film projectionist, musicians, and the stingy boss and his wife, they took him on a journey behind the scenes of the movie.
