The script is adapted from Iain Reid's novel of the same name, which examines the fragility of the soul and the limits of loneliness. Jack originally took his girlfriend home to meet his parents, but his girlfriend was thinking about "ending it all" all the way. After Jack changed the original route, everything went out of control.
