The protagonists of "Dad Goes to War" are a group of old men living in a small town in the UK. They were originally bank clerks and small shop owners. As World War II intensified, these grandfathers, who were full of enthusiasm for serving the country, were not eligible to join the regular army, but spontaneously formed a volunteer army to defend their country and fight against German spies. This irregular army attracted the attention of the media, and the female reporter played by Zeta Jones also came to the town to report their story.
