Plot:
You are invited to witness a drunken sexual farce in the Italian countryside. A dark soapy comedy, The Decameron explores timely themes of class struggle in a time of plague. In 1348, as the Black Death ravages the city of Florence, a handful of nobles retreat to a grand villa with their servants, enjoying a luxurious vacation and waiting out the plague. But as the rules of society fade, a battle for survival ensues, led by a cast of cunning and shameless characters. The eight-episode series was created by Katherine Jordan, who drew inspiration from the 14th-century story collection The Decameron, and is produced by Jackie Cohen's Tilted Productions. Cohen and Jordan are executive producers, along with director Michael Uppendahl and Tilted's Blake McCormick and Tara Herman.
