Plot:
A movie based on the hit HBO series "The Sopranos" is about to be released, and New Line is making a prequel to the series, "The Many Saints of Newark". David Chase, the original screenwriter and producer, and screenwriter Lawrence Connell wrote the script for the new film, and David Chase is the producer. The film is set in the 1960s in Newark, where violence was rampant and gang fights were frequent. The series aired for six seasons from 1999 to 2007, winning 21 Emmy Awards and 5 Golden Globe Awards. James Gandolfini and Frank Vincent, the original stars, died in 2013 and last year respectively. It is reported that many familiar characters from the original series will appear on the big screen.
