When talented, self-centered dancer April (Sofia Carson) is kicked off Broadway, she reluctantly moves back to her small Wisconsin hometown to live with her father (Enrico Colantoni). Doing her best to avoid everyone in her community, including her first love Nick (Wolfgang Novogratz), April reluctantly accepts the offer from her former dance teacher (Donna Lynne Champlin) to train a group of troubled young dancers in town. April initially thought she had found her way back to Broadway, but now she has so much more to gain.
