This film is adapted from the novel of the same name by Kyoko Nakajima. It tells the story of how his father (played by Yamazaki Tsutomu), who was originally a junior high school principal, spent the following time with his wife Yoko (played by Matsubara Chieko) and two beloved daughters (played by Takeuchi Yuko and Aoi Yu) after being diagnosed with cognitive impairment.
