The film is adapted from the children's novel of the same name, and McCarthy will co-write it with the original author Stephen Pastis. The novel tells the story of an 11-year-old boy named Timmy Few, who is the president of a private detective agency with no clues but confident and funny. His partner is an imaginary polar bear.
