Plot:
In the second half of the 16th century, France was in the "Huguenot War" period, and the Catholics and Protestants fought cruel wars. The court was also luxurious, licentious and corrupt. In order to quell the years of civil war, the Catholic French court decided to marry Princess Margaret (Isabelle Adjani) to the leader of the Protestants, King Henry of Navarre (Daniel Auteuil). On August 24, 1572, the wedding was held in Paris. Just as people were immersed in a joyous atmosphere.
