The film is adapted from the novel of the same name. It tells the story of an old man who celebrates his 100th birthday but does not want his family to celebrate for him, so he runs away from home alone. He experiences various adventures along the way and also recalls his wonderful life (he once took a walk with Churchill and went boating with Jiang Qing).
