The story takes place in New York in the 1980s. A dog living in Manhattan is tired of being alone, so he decides to buy a high-tech robot as a companion. The two dance and have fun together on the streets of New York, and their friendship grows deeper and deeper. One day, they take a lazy nap on the beach, but the robot wakes up and can no longer move. The dog is forced to leave in the summer night with a heavy heart.
