Alex (Johannes Krisch) and Tarma (Irina Potapenko) are a pair of star-crossed lovers from Ukraine. Tarma sells her body, while Alex works as a brothel owner's handyman. One day, they decide to sneak away from this dirty place and look for a happy and bright future. The conscientious policeman Robert (Andreas Lust) and his wife Susanna (Ursula Strauss) live a comfortable middle-class life, but what bothers the couple is that they still have no children of their own. A bank robbery inadvertently rewrites the fate of these four people... This film won the CICAE and European Film Awards at the 2008 Berlin International Film Festival.
