The story takes place in the rural areas of Vietnam at the end of the 19th century. A 14-year-old girl is forced to marry a much older man by her parents and become the third wife. Lost feelings and secret desires are taboos. After swallowing them, the girl grows up overnight. Can she break free from the control of patriarchy and escape to nature, even as a free mayfly?
