Plot:
From the experiences of Lu Tianen's life, we can see a picture scroll of China's historical changes in the past century. He was born in 1904 in a prominent royal family in Beijing; his grandmother, Mrs. Lu, was a princess, his late grandfather was the nephew of Empress Dowager Cixi, and his maternal grandfather was a Mongolian prince; this prominent family background made him bear an extraordinary fate from birth; and because he was the only son in several generations and the treasure of the family, he was overly cared for and restricted, making him a caged bird with fine clothes and delicious food, unable and dared not to spread his wings and fly high.
