The film tells the story of the first group of black pilots in the United States during World War II, who overcame the institutional and racial restrictions of the time and formed a special experimental bomber escort team - the Tuskegee Airmen. Their planes were painted with "red tails", which became their nickname. The "Red Tails", the first pilot formation composed of African Americans in the history of the US military, were sent to Alabama for war training and were ready to fight at any time. There, they experienced rampant racism and harassment, and their flying and fighting abilities were questioned, but the outstanding performance of the "Red Tails" in the air prompted the Air Force to abolish the racial segregation system. They also played an indispensable role in the conflicts with Italy and Germany.
