The blind swordsman Zatoichi (Kitano Takeshi) comes to a small town. He dyes his hair blonde, has special skills, and is deadly. Hattori Gennosuke (Asano Tadanobu) is a swordsman with great martial arts skills. He also comes to the town to raise money for his wife's (Natsukawa Yui) treatment and wants to find a job. At the same time, a pair of Noko siblings (Yuko Oda and Daigoro Tachibana) who disguised themselves as geishas and wandered around to perform for revenge also come here. Their target is the town's bully Ginzo and Fanya. After learning the hidden truth, the injustice-loving Zatoichi decides to help the siblings avenge the murder of their parents, but Hattori becomes a bodyguard hired by the enemy, and a life-and-death battle is inevitable.
