The film tells the story of the first love between Meren (Taylor Russell), a young girl abandoned by her parents because of her cannibalism, and Lee (Timothée Chalamet), a young man with the same problem. In the United States during the Reagan administration, they met and embarked on a journey of exploration across thousands of miles, stumbling along the way and seeing all kinds of life; despite their best efforts, they eventually had to face their own terrible pasts, potential pursuers, and the ultimate curse of each other's lives: cannibalism.
