This film takes Lin Chong and Song Jiang as the two main lines, retaining the plots in the original "Water Margin" such as Lu Zhishen uprooting a weeping willow, punching Zhen Guanxi, Lin Chong in the snowy mountain temple, and the 108 heroes of Liangshan Marsh. It tells the story of the heroes being forced to go to Liangshan to revolt, agreeing to surrender but ending up in failure.
