The film is set against the backdrop of the Pingxingguan Victory and tells the story of Zheng Zhong, a cryptographer who was surrounded and hunted by the Japanese army for playing a key role in turning the tide of the war. In order to rescue the cryptographer, the Eighth Route Army sent an elite team deep behind enemy lines, broke through the Japanese army's heavy encirclement, and successfully escorted Zheng Zhong to the rear after surviving many life-threatening situations.
