The film is adapted from the acclaimed novel of the same name. It tells the story of an older soldier (played by Cumberbatch, the character is 21 years old in the book) who, in order to keep his promise, protects and takes care of a young soldier (played by Sheridan) during the Iraq War. It is directed by David Lowery, the director of "Are None of Us?".
