Biaozi, an older single young man from Ma Nai Zibao in the northeastern countryside, is obsessed with his childhood sweetheart Erya. In order to fulfill Erya's dream of singing, he tries to get a performance opportunity at a funeral, but is interrupted by Erlong who returns home. Erlong takes a fancy to Erya and says he can take her to be a star. Erya happily follows him. Biaozi tries to stop her many times in desperation but fails. He finally decides to go to the city to look for Erya, but ends up being a security guard at a shopping mall by mistake. He spends his days catching thieves and perverts, and finally meets Erya again in a nightclub. But at the subsequent jewelry exhibition, the two are involved in a robbery...
