"The Day a Country Goes Bankrupt" focuses on the Asian financial crisis in 1997. Kim Hye-soo plays Han Shi-hyun, the head of the currency policy group of the Bank of Korea, who first foresaw the bankruptcy and began to look for countermeasures. Facing a complex system and power relations, the road ahead of her is full of difficulties; Yoo Ah-in plays Yoon Jung-hak, a financial genius who pursues profit in the crisis; French film actor Vincent Cassel will play the president of the IMF who secretly enters Korea.
