Based on the novel by Dodie Smith, the film is set in 1970s London during the punk rock revolution and tells the story of a young con artist named Estella (Emma Stone). Estella is a smart and creative girl who is determined to make a name for herself with her designs. She befriends a pair of thieves who appreciate her penchant for mischief and together they are able to build a life on the streets of London. One day, Estella's fashion taste catches the eye of Baroness von Hermann (Emma Thompson), a fashion legend with devastating chic and terrifying elegance, but their relationship sets off a chain of events that leads Estella to embrace her evil side and become the crazy, stylish and vengeful Cruella.
