"The Bold, the Corrupt, and the Beautiful" describes the Tang family, which is composed of women. There are three women of different generations who understand people's hearts. Mrs. Tang (played by Kara Hui) presides over the overall situation. She shuttles between the powerful and the wealthy, relying on superb skills and flexibility to survive and profit in the complex political and business relations; the eldest daughter Tang Ning (played by Wu Kexi) with a hedgehog personality tries her best to cooperate in order to gain her mother's affirmation; the well-behaved youngest daughter Tang Zhen (played by Wen Qi) mostly observes quietly and obeys her mother's orders. Until one day, a close friend of the Tang family was tragically killed, and the three of them were involved. Mrs. Tang, who always puts the overall situation first, tries her best to protect everything, but makes the three people go to different destinies.
