Philip (Bryan Cranston) is a wealthy man. In a paragliding accident, he injured his cervical spine and became paralyzed. Now, he lives in seclusion in his luxurious villa, living a secluded life with strong funds. At the suggestion of his friends, Philip decided to hire a personal assistant to take care of his daily life. Not long after the recruitment notice was sent out, a young man named Dale (Kevin Hart) appeared in front of him. Dale is not a very clean person. He is about to face the bad situation of losing his child visitation rights because he cannot pay alimony to his ex-wife. Dale, who is careless and sweet-mouthed, soon attracted Philip's attention. Although everyone thinks that this young man is unreliable, Philip still decides that it is him.
