Three years after the events of the first Sicario film, the sequel opens near the US-Mexico border in Texas. Following a failed attempt to sneak from Mexico to the US through a cartel, the drug war on the US-Mexico border escalates, with federal agent Matt Graver (Josh Brolin) renewing his partnership with the mercurial Alejandro (Benicio Del Toro).
