Edge of Darkness is based on a 1985 BBC six-hour miniseries. Boston Police Department homicide detective Thomas Craven (Mel Gibson) is a single father who loves his 24-year-old daughter. However, as the world changes, his daughter is killed on the steps in front of her house. Thomas believes that the real target of the killer is himself. He stubbornly plunges into the case, but as the investigation deepens, he finds that there is actually another hidden reason for his daughter's murder. Behind the case is the corruption of the entire government system.
