Although Alithea Binnie is satisfied with her life, she is skeptical about the world. In Istanbul, she met a genie who offered her freedom in exchange for three wishes. But Alithea was very knowledgeable and she knew that stories related to wishes never had a good ending. The genie then explained to her why he did so and told her about his glorious past.
