Vincent (Robert Sheehan) is a Tourette syndrome patient. After the death of his mother who was taking care of him, Vincent's long-lost father appeared and sent his son to the treatment center and handed him over to Dr. Ross (Kyra Sedgwick) who worked there. In the treatment center, Vincent met Alex (Dev Patel) and Mary (Zoe Kravitz), the former suffering from obsessive-compulsive disorder and the latter anorexic. As patients, the three young people formed a solid friendship. One day, they stole Dr. Ross's car and drove to the seaside to mourn Vincent's mother. After discovering Vincent's "prison break" behavior, Dr. Ross and Vincent's father immediately joined forces to "hunt down" the three "fugitives."
