Plot:
Barry Jenkins, the director of "Moonlight", has recently finalized his new film. He will bring the novel "If Beale Street Could Talk" by the famous writer James Baldwin to the big screen. The story is set in Harlem, New York in the 1970s. The protagonists are a newly engaged young couple, Fonny and Tish. Fonny is falsely accused of rape, and Tish, who is pregnant, will run around looking for evidence to prove her husband's innocence. Annapurna, founded by Megan Ellison, will invest in the film and will also produce the film together with "Moonlight" production company Plan B and Jenkins' own Pastel Studio. The filming will start in October.
