The story takes place in Yichun after the founding of New China. Forest workers headed by Ma Yongxiang, Zheng Yi, Wei Jianzhong and others went to the Yichun mountainous area with difficult conditions at the call of the Party. Three generations of people struggled against the harsh environment and overcame natural disasters. They took a big step forward from primitive logging to mechanization. With the advent of reform ideas, Ma Yongshun, Wei Jianzhong, Hua Qing and others inherited the will of the older generation, dared to explore and find new ways to develop the forest area, rectified the unhealthy trends such as over-exploitation, indiscriminate logging and illegal logging, and established a good forest protection and afforestation ecological system, which not only protected the forest, but also made reasonable use of resources. The three generations of hard work, their arduous and outstanding spirit, floated over the Xing'an Mountains.
