The story follows a mother (Glenn Close) as she helps her daughter Molly (Mila Kunis) through four crucial days in her recovery from substance abuse. After a long estrangement, their time together not only heals the painful wounds they have inflicted on each other, but also rekindles their fundamental, complex love for each other. The film is based on the WaPo article by Pulitzer Prize winner Eli Saslow, with whom Garcia will co-write the screenplay.
