Stallone plays Gerald in the film. He is attracted by a spiritual inspirational book called "Reach Me" and decides to re-evaluate their decisions, strive to overcome the fear in life and move towards a more positive life. Gerald is just one of the people attracted by this book. There are five people of different identities and ages who have the same experience as Stallone. They are a reporter (Kevin Connolly), a criminal released from prison (Kyra Sedgwick), a hip-hop star (Nelly), an actor (Cary Elwes) and an undercover policeman (Thomas Jane).
