The government told him that his telepathic abilities are a side effect of Wiedemann's disease, and that he will eventually become insane and die from the disease. However, one day, Lazarus met a woman with similar abilities, but the woman had no signs of the disease, so Lazarus mustered up the courage to expose the government's lies.
