Plot:
The latest French war drama, a film reflecting the Algerian War of Independence. In 1959, at the height of the Algerian War, Trian, who worked as an industrial draftsman in the civilian sector, joined the French army and served as a platoon leader with the rank of captain, leading military operations in the Kabylia region. Trian, who was full of humanitarian ideals, soon clashed with Sergeant Duniac, who valued military honor and did not hesitate to use brutal means. This film is adapted from two documentaries by Patrick Rotman, which portrayed French officers and soldiers in the Algerian War as both executioners and victims.
