In Yugouliang, a national poverty-stricken village in Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, young people here all go out to work to make a living, leaving only about 100 left-behind elderly people and women in the village, most of whom are suffering from diseases. The film tells the story of Lu Wenzheng, a school teacher, who responded to the national call to serve as secretary of Yugouliang Village, led the sick elderly and women in the village to practice yoga, improved the physical fitness of the villagers, and called on each household to start planting quinoa. Although many ridiculous stories happened in the process, Yugouliang Village finally took off the poverty hat and became the well-known "China's No. 1 Yoga Village".
