This drama tells the story of Shanghai in early 1930, when various forces were surging and society was in turmoil. Ding Yiqing (played by Zhang Jingyi), the daughter of a wealthy businessman in Ningbo, came to Shanghai alone and met underground workers Dong Hongyu (played by Zeng Li), Lin Mosheng (played by Niu Junfeng) and others. After experiencing the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War in 1938 and the outbreak of the Pacific War in 1942, they completed various revolutionary tasks on the hidden fronts in Shanghai and underground, especially on the economic front, and burned their youth together for that ideal day.
